Calbee, Inc. was one of the first Japanese food manufacturers to call North America home, beginning in the early 1970s. In 1999, Calbee recognized a desire for more wholesome snacking options in the US market, and launched Snapea Crisps. In 2012, Calbee partnered with RDO, one of the largest agricultural companies in North America, to create Calbee North America. Together, Calbee, Inc. and RDO strive to provide snackers with wholesome, better-for-you snacking options.
